is there a port of the AJAX-Lib to jQuery

i used the great http://codeigniter.com/wiki/AJAX_for_CodeIgniter/ for a long time.

Now, its time to move to jQuery!

Does any one know, if there is any port available that lets me keep things as button_to_remote, link_to_remote...

p.s. I know jQ and proto can exist both at the same time as e.g.
var jQ=jQuery.noConflict();
but I want get rid of the heavy size of prototype & scriptaculous.

I didn't have time to check what your functions were doing, but are you aware of that CI2.0 will have build in support for some jquery functions. It is most likely easy to port to your current project also.

Update: unfortunately, its no port of the old ajax lib for CI.
