Hi ppl,

I'm just learning how to use the Codeigniter framework and I saw the tutorial videos. Then I have two question.

First, the database client is cocoamysql in the videos right?

Second, When he is working with de Codeigniter in the first screen of the tutorial, the code is shown on the right. What is that IDE?

Thanks guys

The IDE seems to be TextMate (http://macromates.com/) under Mac OS.

If you have a more professional interest in programming you should give Eclipse IDE a try, as it supports many more platforms/languages if you want to switch to another project later.

I feel Java based ones, especially Netbeans, are extremely slow.

I know there are quite a few robust ones, including Eclipse, Netbeans, and Komodo (Edit for free).

Komodo Edit is by far the most comfortable IDE for me.

If you're serious about PHP, get Nusphere PhpEd and forget the rest. You can either pay for it or you know, acquire it via other means. I use it at home and work, never lets me down and has integrated web server, profiling and debugging tools. Everything you need. Eclipse and Zend Studio are okay, but they're slow.
