Ion auth forgot password

I've just started playing with ion auth.

I have installed it on my local site.

On the login page I clicked on the link forgot your password.

It sent me an email with a reset link.

When I clicked that link it took me to the my site's login page with the message:
Password Successfully Changed

Now, how can I tell what was the password changed to???

I don't understand...

Ok, now I got an email with the new password, but is it safe?

I read that you need to use https when emailing passwords, is that system safe?
