MySQL Inserting twice and not sure why

When doing that the code didn't work. Forgive my ignorance but removing that line meant the library didn't know what I was trying to do as it didn't have any "access" to the super object or whatever it is.

i was saying that in a model you do not need the following

at least not to just access the database object

how about you post the full code of the issue and I might be able to notice something else that is the issue
