Sub-directory without CI Instance

Hello.

I wonder how can i put a separate directory in public_html (where's codeigniter installed)
and manage this directory like normally: file like index.php, file .htaccess. subfolders etc.

Is it possible? Or not? Thanx for advices.

Edit your .htaccess file (root of the project), and add a directive not to rewrite when url starts with base_url/some_directory.
