Project Update - Oct 1, 2015
#1

What has been accomplished during the second and third quarters of 2015:

* We have conducted extensive consultation with the CI community about the direction for CodeIgniter 4.
* We have published a roadmap for CodeIgniter 4, in the CodeIgniter4 section of our forum.
* CodeIgniter 3.0.1 has been released, with a number of security patches and some enhancements
* CodeIgniter 2.2.4 has been released, with a number of security patches
* Our forum continues to grow, with over 4000 users now registered. Over the last year, the community has created over 2,000 threads and 75,000 posts.

What is in progress as fall begins:

* We have begun prototyping the key components that will be at the heart of CodeIgniter 4.
* We continue to improve the security of CodeIgniter.
* We are now using a CDN for the main CodeIgniter website, with the user guide, and are transitioning to full SSL access to it and the forum.

What is planned for the fourth quarter of 2015:

* We are sponsoring a Fall 2015 University Capstone Opensource Projects (UCOSP) team, with three university students from across Canada contributing to CI.

Thank you, the CodeIgniter community, for your support and engagement!
