I thought the same of basic html link but nothing I tried worked so I thought maybe there was something else with CI

I tried your line and still got the same error. So I think at this point I just have to hire someone to help

resolved the problem

all information was correct but the developer who installed the theme did not inform me that some information was actually pulling from a sub-domain and not the main site. changed the same file there and worked perfect

Sometimes the tiniest things can cause a real headache!
