Ignition Go - update - ready to use!

(This post was last modified: 11-13-2016, 11:41 PM by visualsol.)

It's been a while since I've posted here... but Ignition-Go is still moving ahead.

I've added a dynamic menu module (see buildamenu) and the module blox builder is mostly done.  Please give it a try... still some bugs and need to tie in the security.. but coming along nicely.

Ignition Go makes for a great app starter.  We're working now on finishing the module/blox builder (CRUD generator) in the admin, which should be fully functioning soon.

Please take a look - see the various readme and markdown files in the project:

We added a much nicer front page and fixed up some things!
The gulp task runner is going now so you can edit on the fly.

Just about to have our first official release now!

Thank you to Visual Solutions, our corporate sponsor for donating many programmer and tester hours.

Have a look at screens below.

**New Quickstart Branch**

For those of you who are not interested in (or not ready for) gulp, npm and/or bower, we've added a "quickstart" branch.  This branch will have the latest /assets/dist files included so you can just download and go!

Ignition Go supports PHP7.  And a version will be coming this year for CI 4.x !!!

Why haven't you included the original license.txt from CodeIgniter in your project? As required by the MIT license of CI you need to put it in somewhere.

Please, just put credit where it is earned instead of putting your own brand in...

Dierderik,

Thank you for the feedback. The required copyright notice and permission notice for Codeigniter are included at the top of the main index.php entry point of the program in the public folder. I can assure you we love and appreciate Codeigniter and by no means are we trying to take credit for it or any other MIT license open source that we utilize as part of Ignition Go. The license you looked at in our project is a generic MIT license that was auto-generated by Github. Perhaps we should reference CI and others there also, I was looking for an example of this but had not found one yet.

Thanks,
Bob

Hi Bob, I usably put a copy of the license file inside the system dir and rename it to ci_license.txt. I've seen others do the same.

We now have a tutorial on how to get started:

Hope this helps!

Hi everyone,

Ignition Go now has a translate module to manage language files.  I have uploaded an in-progress version which works for application level language files.  There's a issue (unknown at the moment) preventing the module level language files from being discovered. The google translate is not working yet either.

Ignition Go is a great easy to use framework wrapped around the latest Codeigniter 3.1.4, with Bootstrap 3.x UI, a secure area, an admin area, a basic CRUD module generator, and more.. for any web application.
