I agree in many ways, though not always. I probably personally won't use the Parser much - but the ability to extend layouts and the like makes things so much simpler to organize, I feel.


I agree with this too. The only reason and valid reason i include such extensions is in our team, me being the system architect and R & D guy, we have programmers from different schools. Some know (meaning comfortable with) laravel, some know Node.js etc.. When they get assigned to a project involving codeigniter, our main and primary framework, i would want them to feel at least 50% at home and then migrate them to appreciate CI at their own time.
