If flexi-auth dead?

Google have finally shutdown recaptcha v1.

I was looking for updated flexi-auth code that would use recaptcha v2 but don't seem to be able to find any.

Is flexi-auth dead or am I just blind and can't find the latest code?  If so, what is a recommended replacement?

If you have experience using flexi-auth, it's only as dead as your unwillingness to fork and update recaptcha to the current version. I don't use flexi-auth, but recaptcha is so easy to implement, it's hard to imagine that this issue would be holding you back.

flexi-auth doesn't seem to have been touched for over 5 years.  The CodeIgniter flexi auth forum thread has been archived.

And after discussion with the client they want to go with a 2FA solution.
