index.php missing

Hello to everyone,
I downloaded CI 4 installed in XAMPP  I tried to run it in the web browser unfortunately didnt work, instead is showing the content of htdocs folder. Taking a look in htdocs folder I see index.php is missing!

I tried installing index.php from previous versions but then I get this error message: "Your application folder path does not appear to be set correctly. Please open the following file and correct this: index.php"

Index.php is not coming in the package I find the situation very puzzling. How should I deal with it?

index.php in in the public foldewr and it is not missing in the current releases of CodeIgniter.

Also make sure that you set your base_url in app/Config/App.php
