To Dam1an: I don't want a war about what program is better but hey, I DO care about RAM and startup times because I open/close Notepad++/Flash/Dreamweaver/Photoshop/Illustrator/Word/Outlook/... like 10-20 times each at a day.
Many people do not work ONLY in php but other things as well. And all open at a time is imposible.
And Photoshop NEEDS RAM. I have an Athlon64 X2 Dual 5200+ with 4GB but work with big images, so I must close all other programs when working with PS.
And I know many friends who develop at home with the laptop and use Notepad++ because they can program without bothering about system resources.
I'm not saying that Eclipse is bad, it's just that not always the BEST is the best option. That's all. And Notepad++ covers the need.
Despite what I have said, if I had to stay with only one program that would be Dreamweaver.
I'm in love with Dreamweaver, and you can say what you want but for me DW is better than Eclipse in many things.
And notice that I have not recommended it because it's not free software.
