Does CI Support layout management?

I was checking out the manual ( nearly a hour reading just about everything ), and I didn't see anything regarding layout management. So is there layout management like Cake has? If not whats the best approach to creating a "base" layout then loading all views inside that layout. (Or if its possible when loading a view to return the content into a variable, that would be find and I could just extend the main controller and add a global layout feature) before doing that wanting to know if theres support for this.
