What is your setup for running application development?

I'm hoping to find out more about what other users of the CI framework run as their setup. It would be interesting to know if people like to stay current with the technology or more stable.

1. Newest? Stable? Which is more important to you?
2. How do you take advantage of new technologies? Why?
3. Which environments do you use and why?

Have voted for "don't keep up" as apache and php are upto date but mysql is 5.0 branch due to some serious order by and index bugs in the current 5.1 stream

I'm as up to date as the bake-in Leopard versions... so that's "Not very".

I run Ubuntu on my laptop as a LAMP installation. What ever the repositories hold, I have.
