HMVC Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class CI in ..\application\third_party\MX\Base.php on line 57

I'm new to this forum and trying to use HMVC in our application.
I'm getting this error when trying to run a simple module like,
Modules::run('movieitem/index', $mediaId);
The module is very simple, the error happens in HMVC before even reaching the module. Any ideas what might be happening? I followed the set up instructions and seem to have files in their correct places. I'm using CI 2.0.2.
