I would personally like to see the set_value() function on the Form Validation library page documented to indicate that it properly filters the form values for security. I had to dig into the code to see if it was or not, and it's probably something that should be stated.
It also seems confusing that the set_value() method in the Form_validation library does not filter for security (or am I missing something) while the helper function does. What is the purpose of the library method?
