A little ms sql assistance needed!

I have got a rather large database with a column in it with data like this:

Mr Smith
Mrs Jones
Ms Bob

I need to remove everything after the salutation, so essentially the space and all after it needs to go.

I can't for love nor money get it to happen for me. The best i've achieved thus far is removing the space.

Can anyone offer any wisdom? Oh it's ms sql if that makes a difference.
