Bookmarkable, paged, advanced search without query strings?

Not if that extra data is passed in through another segment of the URI.

It might make pagination a bit more difficult as sometimes there would be no search attributes, but the page number should be an integer, so I could code my app to figure out whether the second parameter is a page number or search options.

How did you end up getting it to work? I have a similar problem and am wondering whether to use uri_to_assoc() or urlencode(). Pros and Cons?
