Active Records Way to Disable Escaping?

Just wondering if there is a way to not escape a value when using Active Records. If I wanted to use a query value of getdate() when I place that into the query it gets escaped to 'getdate()' throwing an error on my database. It is a date-time field, so... Is there a way to explicitly do this with active records?
