how does pinging the ping-o-matic using xml-rpc class work exactly? say i want to notify pingomatic once a week, automatically. id create a controller much like the one in the user guide example. then call this controller with a cron job. would i send it a list of all my pages (like a sitemap) or only the ones updated / posted since the last ping? i assume its possible to send multiple articles on my site to pingomatic?
or, would one rather send a ping when a new piece of content is submitted or edited (at every database insert / update) ?
im mainly looking for background info, since i know nothing about xml-rpc (other than what i read in the user guide). im sure ill figure out how to implement from the excellent CI docs.
