CodeIgniter for command-line apps? Anyone?

In essence - part of my app needs to run as CRON job (probably under Vixiecron, but that's not an issue).

Sooooo.... is it possible to invoke PHP from the terminal and have it run some ignited code - i.e. code that does not have an connection to a physical webpage.

I don't need console messages (any errors can log as normal) but I would like to utlitise MVC since the rest of my app is running (well) in that - thanks to CI!
