Email library : mail() function issue

Try one of these threads... lots of good debugging hints.

For instance, have you tried using a telnet connection to gmail smtp port and send it commands by hand?

eg. > telnet smtp.gmail.com 25

results in
telnet smtp.gmail.com 25
Connected to gmail-smtp.l.google.com.
Escape character is '^]'.
220 mx.google.com ESMTP hsfkjs47g

also, see this gmail page: http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answe...swer=13287

keep trying.

Thanks for answers!

I'll take a look at all these links, but it seems to be very difficult. The main problem with OpenSSL, is that my host doesn't provide access to the server files.

So I can't neither try the telnet connection with commands, like sophistry suggested.

For now, I've just changed the config to the stadard 'mail' protocol, and it works fine.
I'll maybe try this SMTP connexion one day. Smile

Thanks and see you on the forums Wink
