Simple Wiki, translation of an uri_segment

Hi there, i´m fairly new to CI and I have a question about how to make a simple wiki system.

the thing is I don´t understand how to make the uri_segment that is inputted for example: (www.wiki-example.com/example) translate not to a function just like the CI wiki works (http://codeigniter.com/wiki/wiki) or any other wiki

How i´m I to go about doing this.

Using a route, you can redirect ALL requests to a specific controller.
