Retrieving CI session->userdata() from within MY_Exceptions.php

I'm trying to maintain state, even when outputting an error page, and wondering if this is easily done.

Edit -- I neglected to say "with CI sessions". I had been talking about going to native php sessions, and I've done that now, but I would still like to know if there is an answer.
