Restricting certain web pages through Apache
#1

Hello,

I've been trying to restrict access to my XML-RPC-server from the internet(its supposed to be on a different port that I'll restrict to a specific computer through the router.) The "problem" is that it uses the CodeIgniter framework and therefore resides amongst my other webpage files and that I have to restrict access for that specific file via Apache(?).

I've been thinking of creating a separate root folder containing another copy of the framework and the XML-RPC-server and setting up an virtual host running with that folder as root on the other port.
Any other bids or general comments?

Thank you

<EDIT>
I'm having problems with Virtual Hosts with separate root directories both containing CI. It seems that CI hijacks my requests on the non-standard port and routes me back to port 80. Its really quite frustrating. Smile
</EDIT>
