sql statements execution

Hi Guys

Is there any way of finding out whether an sql statement has been successfully executed ?

strange question I gotta admit
I guess you either mean select or insert/update statements.
First there should be no sql error reported then insert/update returns TRUE and select returns result set.

There is also a chance you mean something completly different
