User Registration - The Way It Is Implemented in These Forums

The action attribute of the form tag at http://ellislab.com/forums/member/register/ has a value of http://codeigniter.com/. Isn't sending form data to the root of a website a little unusual? I would expect something more like member/something but maybe I'm missing something.

It's possible that the front controller (or whatever http://codeigniter.com resolves to) handles new user submissions.

The codeigniter site and forum is powered by Expression Engine, so you might want to ask in that forum
