How can I show a custom 404 page? I read over everything in the user guide - but the default '404 page not found' isn't enough, and the data I want to put into it is dynamic.

Build logic into the default 404 page to display the data that you want by using a case statement or some other logic that will let you determine what view to load and what data to display.
