insert data while sending form to different url

I have a form which action is on a third party site. I want to insert data in my database when user clicks submit.

Could you not make the form action point interally, do what you need with the data, before passing it on to the external site via na API or similar?

I'm a newbie, so need something simple. Can I call a model in view before sending it to third party site?

I tried using model in view, and it works.

Do you have any better idea?
