Trouble Shooting code
#1

Hi all,

I'm new to php programming, and new at CodeIgniter.

I've been working on an application on a local web server under mamp. Sometime last week I was adding some new functionality to my application, got side tracked, shut down and saved all files.

Thing is, I've broken the application, I get blank pages.

Now, I haven't started trouble shooting yet at all, I'm sure I'll find the problem, a probably a missing semicolon. It'll take some time.

What I'm getting at - is there a method of checking the php syntax instead of picking through lines of code?

Many thanks,

-
Chris.

so, I found the problem, I added the js_calendar last week to a header view, and a bad edit of js_calendar was causing problems.

So, to further my question - why doesn't CodeIgniter report problems? For example, if I had used a phpinclude on the file php would have barfed the file and line number causing me grief. Is there a similar function in CodeIgniter?

Thanks!

-
Chris.
