Best way to handle authentication with MY_Controller ?

Autoloading a library to check an access control list would function perfectly well. Using hooks is overkill for such a simple process.

@everyone : thank you so much for participating in this conversation. I wasn't expecting this much attention. This was very helpful to me as I'm building my first CI project.

I think I'm going to use n0xie's white listing approach because it fits my project's needs. Hooks don't make me feel comfortable. Although I'm thinking about using them for pseudo CRON jobs in the near future.
