Confuse in My_Controller and Site_sentry libraries in bambooinvoice

I have to take with outstanting software "bamboinvoice", One thing I like it about pattern design and code structure but I am a newbie in codeigniter and PHP programming,I have confusin about redirect() function in My_Controller libraries when I remove constant $unlocked = array('.....,'','login'); to be occure infinity looping in the redirect function.

Can somebody help me to explain about $unlocked = array('login'); in My_controller library? When I remove it what abut happen?
