Advise about auth

Hi everyone,
I'm learning CI and looking for a plugable auth systems. There are several ones here, and choosing one is really difficult. The question is: Is it right to plug an auth systems using hooks?

I don't have a deeper knowledge of php and CI yet so I'm not sure to be taking the right desicion.

you could try FreakAuth, it seems to be very popular here..
i haven tried it yet, though.

Thanks for the advise, FreakAuth is in the list.
The question was if it's ok to use hooks to implement Auth. The FreakAuth user guide shows how to protect an specific controller or method, but may be there is a more generic and transparent approach using hooks. And I'm asking because I haven't found any example of that.


Please excuse my english, i speak spanish and sometimes it's a little bit hard to explain what i want.
