Captcha Image is Missing Text?

I'm trying out the CI captcha plugin. Everything's working fine, except that the text doesn't show up in the image. (Sample attached). How can I correct this? I'm developing on MAMP, which has gd 2.0.34.

I fixed it by using Jester.ttf rather than texb.ttf. Probably I just would need to reinstall texb.ttf to get that to work.
