create xml from directory content

Is there a good library for creating xml from the contents of a directory?

I searched around but nothing is really jumping out at me.

Should be easy enough to do on your own.

Write a recursive function to list the directory and then generate the appropriate xml for directories and files.

I use the html helper ul function.
