Myself, Jamie Rumbelow, Michael Wales and Adam Griffiths have all been chuckling over this one. It really is not a good article, short of the Doctrine suggestion, but there is already a whole series dedicated to CodeIgniter + Doctrine.

Hmmmm, very interested in finding out why it's not a good article?

Is it that the info provided is common knowledge?

I only ask because the developer who wrote that article is the same developer who wrote the series on Codeigniter + Doctrine. Not sure why one would be a bomb and the other well respected?

P.S. I love what your doing with PyroCMS. I really wanted to use it in an upcoming project but I've decided to try my hand at rolling my own system this time around. :-)
