how to display video in browser ??

i need to display video files of various extensions like avi, mpeg, wmv in my web site. what do i need to do? please suggest.

As far as i know you'll need flash or java applets for this.

You can use YouTube, Vimeo or special JavaScript(with flash) libraries. Also, if you don't wanb to use web services or scripts, you can embed video in HTML using tag video. Read about HTML 5.

The easiest way and probably economical is to upload to vimeo, youtube or similar sites and get the 'embed script'.

I'm not sure what kind of solution you're looking fore, but you could use ffmpeg to convert al sort of video formats to flv (or other) en show them in the jwplayer.
