convert .xls to .csv using code igniter coding

i haveto upload the excel file into my server that time i would like to convert the excel file into csv.
can any one provide that code please

creating a .csv is not your problem, the real challenge is to read the .xls file.
Did you allready try a 'php xls reader' search?
(i got load of hits, i think something usefull is out there )

no .. actually excel reader is not pick up the date values (eg : i have the date 2010-1-31 its coming like 45456) .
that is the problem thats y i want to convert that excel file into .csv..

please give us some more details, perhaps some code, results and a better explanation about your problem. I.R. confused.
