getting the logs to work on Mac OS X

I am trying to get the log function to work. I read the docs, but its not working.
I have set the permissions on the file and directory to 777. I have defined the full path. I have set the log threshold. What else am I missing?

Don't think problem in operation system, I have osx and logs are writing normal

did you do anything outside of what the doc says?

Nothing special, just pointed log file to my log folder /var/log/apache/ci_log

Just an idea, do You use a trailing slash with Your log path ?

I figured it out. Apparently I can't read. I provided a log path including log file. I converted it to a path (full path directory) and it works like a charm. I really hope someone can learn from that goofball mistake, otherwise it was totally in vain.
