Menu Editor

I just recently build a menu editor for a CMS but, well it's kinda boring...

Items can only move in the y-axis so up or down. Then I took a quick look again at drupal again and I love the Menu Editor. So the question is do you guys know of a tutorial of library that will help me achieve this? I have been scouring the webs but have come up dry.
