Unfortunately, it doesn't work in my case. I don't think isset() is a solution, since the variable stays undefined; just the error is no more displayed. Why would the criteria then work?
Grad Student, you wrote "You probably loaded $config" - what do you mean by that?
Where in your example is the $this->form_validation->set_rules() part?
If the config is loaded when the form_validation->run() runs I am not surprised that CI can't process the set_rules() that comes before that.
, only thing is maybe you can name your form_validation array something so if you ever have to make another one you don't have to change it.
