Remove index from url

[eluser]proximityfuse[/eluser]
I have mannaged to remove index.php so that the default url
for the application is:

http://localhost/CodeIgniter_1.7.2/

is there a way to change the default url so that it will instead be

http://localhost/CodeIgniter_1.7.2/controllername/

?
