Calendar Class - displaying a year of dates rather than a month??

I'm trying to work with the calendar class to recreating part of a site I taken over.

I want to show a years worth of dates in a relatively simple manner as opposed to just showing a month at a time which appears to the way the current calendar class wants to work by default - please see here for reference to what i want to recreate.

Can this be done with the existing Calendar Class? I am making some head way at the moment by attempting to edit some of the settings in the main Calendar library file but i'm wondering if this is the best way!

The calendar is to be updated via a DB just to strike out available dates for booking the holiday let etc. if this makes any difference to peoples thoughts!

If anyone has any suggestions whether there are better ways to do this it'd be much appreciated!
