Freak_Auth with Cart Class

Hey all:

I've been using Freak_Auth for our authentication element on our system and it's been working pretty well so far. However, we just implemented the shopping cart portion of the system and found out that the Cart class and Freak_Auth don't play well together. It seems as though the ci_session table in the DB is getting bad data and the Cart session var isn't getting read properly. Does anyone know a solution for this without destroying Freak_Auth? Cuz right now it seems as though the only solution would be to remove Freak_Auth and code our own Authentication class (which will take way to much time)

I think your main problem here is Freak_Auth, That is a crazy old system and its a damn mess to work with. I don't want to offend the developers as at the time it was amazing. Looking back on my own code from that time it was even worse, but today it doesn't really stand up against other solutions like the awesomely simple Ion Auth.
