404 error on every page

I just started to try and get to grips with CI, i dl it and followed all the instructions.
I was following the tutorial but nothing works other than the default page.

Literally get a 404 on every page bar the index page. I cannot even access www.example.com/welcome which throws up a 404.

Where am I going wrong? I dont want to abandon it as frustrating!

I've been through that guide a few times and still cannont get it to work with index.php.
I now get an 500 internal server error when trying www.example.com/blog

Apache is giving me this error.
[Thu Aug 26 13:31:47 2010] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] Request exceeded the limit of 10 internal redirects due to probable configuration error. Use 'LimitInternalRecursion' to increase the limit if necessary. Use 'LogLevel debug' to get a backtrace.

Setup is WAMP on W7, mod rewrite is on etc.

Please post your .htaccess file (or apache config if you you opted to go that route instead.)
