autocomplete doesnt show?

Hi

i call the autocomplete in search page it list out the items when i type charcter but in the index page it doesnt show the list of items, i set the default controller as search ,then why it didnt show anyone can guide me.

It's hard to say what's happening without to see the code...
Use firebug to to check what's returning
