Open Sourcing a CI Project
#1

Hi All,

Please bare with me as I am new to this forum.

I have developed and enterprise collaboration tool as a side project and I am planning on releasing it as open source. It is developed using codeigniter and is at a pretty usable state.

How do I go about distributing the files. Is it okay to redistribute the application and the CI project files. It seams that that are pretty tightly bound due to the directory structures. Or should I just package and make available the application folder. Also which license would make the most since for this arrangement.

Any suggestions regarding this will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

You can redistribute CodeIgniter as part of an open-source project as long as you leave the license in place.

To get people seeing, using and contributing to your code try using GitHub or BitBucket.
