Create Hooks To Log XMLRPC In Parameters and Output Value?

I am new to CI. Please offer insight/code/point me in the right direction.

I am using XMLRPC.

I would like to log all of the parameters that come in and the responses that go out.

I could just copy and paste some custom logging functions in all of my code but that doesn't feel right. Is there a place where I can place this code once like a "hook" and it will work for every xmlrpc call I do?

Please assume I have very little knowledge of CI so keep thing basic for me.
