Secure vs not Secure Server

Looking for a pointer here as I have not been able to locate an answer on my own...

Have a site http://www.mysite.com which also has Secure Server needs. However the Secure Server is on a "Virtual Private Server" at https://myisp.com/~mydir

So. Now my question is. How do I redirect a visitor to the Secure Server for them to log in and have their session tied to both the http and https addresses?

All Session Control is being handled by CI 1.7.2

Just to clarify - your problem is not http vs https - that has nothing to do with CI and will work by default.

Your problem is having a session shared across two domains. I dont remember the answer - but it has been discussed on the forums a couple of times.

Just a heads up...CI uses cookies for the Session Class so in reality it is having a cookie shared across two domains.
