CI 2.0.1 - base_url() issue?

I've noticed that for all of my sites installed running on CI 2.0.1, no matter what I set in config.php as my $config['base_url'] it will always just default to the $_SERVER['HTTP_HOST'] ...

No matter what I set $config['base_url'] to, it's always ignored.

Has anyone else experienced this issue?
